The hook that started this

“I'm so glad AI exists because I can literally build the coolest stuff in ten minutes.”

It's a feeling first, a flex second, and the product never shows up in the hook. Anyone who has ever wanted to build something but couldn't is in.

A hook is three layers

  1. 1

    Visual

Frame one, sound off. Most people scroll muted. Something visibly happening: a list filling itself in, an alert landing, a face reacting.

  2. 2

    Title

On-screen text in the first second. 8 words max. Opens a gap, doesn't close it.

“I'm not technical. I built this in 10 min.”

  3. 3

    Spoken

The first 6 words do the work. No “hey guys.” A different job than the title: if the title is the claim, the voice is the setup.

“I'm so glad AI exists because…”

The test, every time
  • ✓Would you stop with no sound?
  • ✓Is the title readable in one second?
  • ✓Does it create curiosity without giving the answer?
  • ✓Do the first 6 words earn the next 6?
  • ✓Does it talk to the want, not the tool?

Hook library

Short, to the point. Pulls in everybody, not just the niche. The hook talks to the want (money, time, cool, lazy); the payoff reveals the tool. Nobody has to be technical anymore, and that's the biggest audience there is.

Not technical flex

  • “I'm so glad AI exists. I built this in ten minutes.”
  • “I have no idea how to code and I built this.”
  • “I'm not a developer. Watch this.”
  • “This took ten minutes and I still can't believe it worked.”

Number

  • “3 things I made AI do this week that saved me money.”
  • “5 websites I steal designs from.”
  • “I gave AI 100 websites. Here's what it came back with.”
  • “4 things AI can watch for you while you sleep.”

Pain point

  • “If you're still refreshing Zillow, stop.”
  • “Still checking prices by hand? Watch this.”
  • “LinkedIn sucks, so I built my own job finder.”
  • “Tired of not knowing what's going on? Same.”

Contrarian

  • “ChatGPT can't read the internet. Here's the fix.”
  • “You don't need to learn to code anymore.”
  • “Everyone uses AI wrong. It should be doing this.”
  • “Stop paying for tools that just watch websites.”

Transformation

  • “Two hours of research is now one sentence.”
  • “I used to check 40 sites a day. Now AI texts me.”
  • “Last week I couldn't code. This week I built a job finder.”
  • “$0 and one sentence: a business that finds clients.”
